Commonplace book, compiler unknown. Includes many autograph letters, inscriptions, poetry, pen-and-ink and watercolor sketches, and amusing or interesting anecdotes on a variety of topics. Dates found on entries range from 1780-1828. Includes an ALS from William Cowper to Mrs. Newton, Dec. 17, 1780 containing eight stanzas of poetry, beginning "Between nose and eyes, a strange contest arose." Also includes other ALsS from Cowper to Wm. Wilberforce, Claude Buchanan, John Newton, etc.
